Age caught up with even The Kaiser. One final time, he descended from the mountains, slower than before, eyes dimmer but no less sharp. He spoke to the people gathered at the plaza:

"I came not to fix your world, but to remind you that you can."

Then, he climbed back into the mists. Some say he became part of the mountain. Others believe he walks still, watching.

The city built a monument, not of stone, but of trees and flowing water, just as he would have wanted.
